The Baltimore Ravens have defeated the Chicago Bears 17-16 Cheap Joe Flacco Jersey , and they are now 1-0 in the 2018 preseason. It was an eventful night for the Ravens that featured big performances from several early-round draft picks from previous years, namely Kamalei Correa. He was considered to be on the roster bubble, and he had one of his best games in the NFL albeit it was during the preseason. Correa recorded three sacks, one interception and one forced fumble. Baltimore’s defense had the mentality of bend do not break on the first drive. Despite allowing the Bears to drive down the field, Chuck Clark picked off Chase Daniel to halt the drive.Robert Griffin III received the start for Baltimore, and he was fairly impressive. He did have an interception, but the ball deflected off of Breshad Perriman’s hands. On the ensuing drive, Daniel found Burton for a four-yard touchdown. Albert McClellan appeared to be in coverage on the play, but he failed to contain his assignment. Griffin III then led the Ravens on an eight play, 77-yard drive that ended in a touchdown. Undrafted free agent running back Gus Edwards had two big plays: a 16-yard run and a 23 reception. Griffin III hit Maxx Williams for a five-yard touchdown to tie the game at seven. On the next drive, Daniel was picked off by Kamalei Correa, and Baltimore took over on Chicago’s nine-yard line. The Ravens’ offense went three out and settled for three to take the lead 10-7. Josh Woodrum took over for Griffin III late in the first half, yet struggled immensely. It was an interesting decision by the Ravens to play Woodrum before Lamar Jackson, but he ended up playing the entire second half. In his NFL debut, Jackson’s first drive was a three-and-out. On his next drive, he led Baltimore on a six-play, 36-yard drive that ended in a Hayden Hurst eight-yard touchdown. Late in the fourth quarter, Tyler Bray connected with Tanner Gentry for a 10-yard touchdown. Instead of kicking the extra point to tie it up, Bears head coach Matt Nagy kept his offense on the field to go for two. The two-point attempt failed as Bray’s pass fell incomplete. The Ravens then went three-and-out, giving Chicago one last chance to complete a game-winning drive. On Chicago’s final drive http://www.ravenscheapshops.com/cheap-authentic-tony-jefferson-jersey , they went turned it over on downs as they were unable to convert on fourth down and the game ended with three kneel downs from Jackson. Aside from Correa, there were several other standouts for Baltimore such as Bronson Kaufusi, Patrick Ricard, Orlando Brown Jr. and Hayden Hurst. The good news for Baltimore is the fact that they came out of this game healthy. One of the most significant concerns for them once it was announced that they would be playing an extra preseason game was injuries, but it appears the injury bug did not bite them on Thursday night. The Ravens defense forced four turnovers, including two interceptions. Despite not having several key starters, they were still aggressive. However, the biggest concern after the Hall of Fame game should be the rule changes, specifically the new helmet to helmet rule. There were several controversial calls and some inconsistencies with the execution of this new rule, but there were two notable flags that will likely be talked about in the upcoming weeks. One of those flags was called in the end zone as Hayden Hurst was attempting to catch the ball, and he was hit in the upper body. However, the officials deemed it an illegal hit, claiming the defender lead with his helmet. The other controversial call was against Ravens defensive back Bennett Jackson. As the intended target bobbled the football, Jackson hit him in the upper body. By rule, this is less controversial as he appears to have led with his helmet and hit a defenseless receiver, but it was still a questionable flag. The new rule changes will be something worth monitoring moving forward, but the Ravens are now 1-0 in the preseason. They will get Friday off before returning to the practice field on Saturday in preparation for their second preseason game against the Los Angeles Rams. After he was released by the Oakland Raiders last offseason, the Ravens moved quickly to sign wide receiver Michael Crabtree to a three-year, $21 million dollar contract. At the time, the acquisition was well-received by many and expected to pay dividends. Many thought Crabtree would thrive as the number one option in Baltimore’s revamped passing attack. On the surface Cheap Mark Andrews Jersey , it made sense; his redzone prowess and savy, veteran skills mirrored that of past Ravens receivers who had success in Baltimore, such as Anquan Boldin and Derrick Mason. However, things did not go according to plan. Crabtree’s longtime struggles with drops reared their ugly head early in the season and his production in terms of yards and touchdowns failed to compensate.Crabtree finished the season with near career-lows across the board: 54 receptions, 607 yards and three touchdowns, which ranked 62nd, 66th, and 78th out of all wide receivers, respectively. He saw 100 targets on the year, which led all Ravens receivers, so Crabtree’s struggles can’t be chalked up to a lack of opportunity. Despite seeing more targets than his counterparts, Crabtree was less productive than John Brown, Willie Snead IV, and even rookie tight end Mark Andrews.Much like John Brown, however, Crabtree’s production cratered during the second half of the season following a quarterback change. When the Ravens became a run-centric offense with Lamar Jackson, essentially every receiver other than Willie Snead IV and Mark Andrews became invisible. Here’s a breakdown of Crabtree’s regular season production in nine games with Joe Flacco starting and eight games Lamar Jackson under center:With Flacco: 41 receptions, 472 yards, 11.5 YPC, 2 TDWith Jackson: 13 receptions http://www.ravenscheapshops.com/cheap-authentic-willie-snead-iv-jersey , 135 yards, 10.4 YPC, 1 TDClearly, Crabtree was negatively affected by the switch at quarterback. Would his production have fallen off had Flacco never gotten injured? Probably not. However, Jackson is the quarterback going forward and Crabtree’s game does not mesh well with the young signal-caller.Given his inconsistencies as a passer, the Ravens need to surround Jackson with playmakers capable of creating separation and gaining yards after the catch. Crabtree isn’t particularly good at either of these things.Baltimore has an opportunity to get younger at the position and potentially acquire some building blocks for the future. Crabtree, who turns 31 next season, was never going to be anything more than a stopgap option.Crabtree is at the backend of his prime and his production has tailored off over the past few seasons. After being signed to lead a new-look receiver core, Crabtree was one of the Ravens biggest disappointments this season. His performance did little to elicit confidence that he’ll improve going forward, either. If the Ravens want to let Crabtree go, they can do so with the team-option in his contract. According to Spotrac, the Ravens can release Crabtree before June 1st, which ends Crabtree’s contract as a one-year/$8 million deal, saving Baltimore $4,666,665 in 2019.If his short time in Baltimore has come to a close, at least he left on somewhat of a high note: catching two fourth-quarter touchdown passes in the Ravens wild card loss to the Chargers. The 10-year veteran is one of several potential cap casualties on the Ravens roster. Cutting ties with “King Crab” would save Baltimore money and allow for a smoother investment in younger, more scheme-friendly options at wide receiver. While retaining him going into next season would maintain consistency at the position, moving in a different direction appears to the best option for the Ravens.
